Heard something about DuPont selling off their coatings business to Axalta?
Anyone heard the details of this transaction?
What does this mean for the future of those luthiers who use DuPont materials for finishing?

Haven't heard.

Probably would just mean that the label will say DuPont, but the manufacturer will be Axalta.

What prompted me was seeing Jeff Gordon's racer plastered with the Axalta name instead of DuPont at last weekend's NASCAR race.

Maybe he just changed sponsors?
I dunno.
For some reason, I just feel the need to respond, since I'm on a forum. :)

Hadn't heard that. Doesn't matter to me as I don't use Dupont finishes....just don't like them.
